Avinash Rajagopal is an associate editor at Metropolis magazine. He is the author of Hacking Design (Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, 2013), which tracks the emergence of digital fabrication and open design as a new model for responsible, sustainable practice. He also co-edited the catalog for Adhocracy, an exhibition on open design displayed at the Istanbul Design Biennial 2012 and at the New Museum. Rajagopal has lectured at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), New York, the University of Texas at Austin, and the National Institute of Design, India. He holds an MFA in Design Criticism from SVA and worked as an industrial designer and design researcher prior to that. His writing has appeared in Change Observer, Little Design Book, Jalopnik, Take on Art, and Metropolis magazine.
